Laurel Farm House

Laurel Farm House is a comfortable, warm and inviting properety with accommodation for 8 guests and homely furnishings reflecting the owner’s travels of the East. Well behaved dogs welcome..

The village centre is situated approximately half a mile away. A very scenic stroll, following the river for most of the way.

A meandering path leads from the front gate through the well tended lawned garden with apple and pear trees. There is paved patio area with bench at the front of the property.

The entrance hall has parquet flooring, a bench, book case and oriental cupboard. Leading to: Ground floor cloakroom with toilet and basin.

The kitchen/dining room has Chinese slate flooring, a dining table with six chairs, with a window overlooking the front garden. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a gas hob, electric oven, toaster, microwave and full height fridge/freezer, Belfast sink and dishwasher, cottage style units and granite worktops.

Door to the utility area and washing machine.

Access to the rear walled garden with paved sun terrace and seating, also a lawned area with shrubs and trees and a glazed garden shed. A fantastic,safe enclosed area for children and adults.

Sitting room: Inglenook fireplace with natural flame gas fire. Round dining table with six chairs, two sofas and windows to the front and the rear gardens. Samsung TV and DVD, bookshelf, radio cassette and an eclectic collection of furniture and paintings.

Bedroom 1: king sized bed with window overlooking the front garden, bookshelf, dressing table and built in wardrobe.

Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom with the window overlooking the front garden and bookshelf.

Bedroom 3: 2 Bunk beds with the window overlooking the front garden and a bookshelf with lots of children’s books.

Family bathroom: Bath, toilet and a basin with window overlooking the rear garden. Shower room,with a toilet, basin window with river peeps.

Children love Laurel Farm House, with it’s large garden to play in. It is a well-equipped and homely cottage, handy for all amenities and attractions.

Welcome to the picturesque village of Shaldon! Situated at the mouth of the River Teign, this quaint old village with its narrow streets and lovely village green provides a most attractive setting for your holiday. Among the many things to do and see are:-

  • "1785 Day" from May until September on every Wednesday, the villagers dress in georgian costume and there are many special attractions on the village green, with free entertainment in the evenings.
  • 18 Hole Approach Golf Course.
  • Botanical Gardens
  • Shaldon Wildlife Trust - Endangered primates, exotic birds, small mammals & nocturnal house.
  • Shaldon Water Carnival with its Parade or Dressed Boats and Shaldon Regatta (August).
  • Enjoy the sandy estuary beach or go through the Smugglers tunnel to Ness Cove Beach, a larger and sandy beach. With the completion of a multi-million pound South West Water "Clean Sweep" scheme, we can boast of some of the cleanest beaches in the South West.
  • Take the passenger ferry to Teignmouth (a few minutes).
  • Or, just potter about and enjoy the atmosphere of this charming village. There is a good selection of village shops, restaurants & pubs.
  • For a change of scene, Torquay is about 8 miles, Exeter and Dartmoor National Park about 16 miles and many other delightful places are within easy reach.
